Why do I need permission to translate?
Mostly because it helps me keep track of existing translations, which allows me to link them to my fics and socials for other readers to share. Here are some other reaons:
It allows me to establish a relationship with the translator, where I can thank them for their work and provide assistance/clarification where required (e.g. help with Australian slang)
It acts as a vetting process, so I know my work is being translated accurately. E.g. no name, fandom, pronoun changes (yes, I've heard horror stories...)
